Here are some upcoming items we would like to highlight for members, for the first half of July. Some events didn’t make the newsletter in time.

3 July-12:30-1:30

Cookies and Conversation (BESC). Come have light hearted conversation with some local youth and families. You are welcome to bring cookies or just enjoy what is available.

Our senior centers are closed for the day. We will re-open on Friday! Happy Birthday America and we thank those who have served on behalf of our country.

9 July 12:30-1:30

The SciGuy (also known as Bernadette’s husband Chad) will be doing some hands on bubbles science, for kids of all ages. You are welcome to bring a young visitor or come learn how to entertain them, when they visit you. Rumor has it that he will share his bubble recipe secrets.

11 July-Community Foundation and Year End Review 1:30pm-2:30pm

The Los Alamos Community Foundation (LACF) will give a short presentation on their program and answer questions. It will be followed by a brief presentation on the Los Alamos Retired and Senior Organization (LARSO) finances, goals and accomplishments for the end of the fiscal year.

11 July-Paint Strokes Through Grief 2pm-4pm BESC

There is still time to sign up for this free class using art therapy. There is no fee or experience necessary to attend the group. If you have new or used art supplies, we would love to have donations.

13 July-ScienceFest 10am-3pm

Those members willing to sit at our table and talk about Los Alamos from years past will be paid in cookies and lemonade. Please let Bernadette know if you are interested in this event.
